Who's Rick Outlander?
I'm the friend who already bought it, tested it, and will tell you exactly what I think. No sponsorships. No PR samples. No "this product was provided by" disclaimers. Everything on this site is something I spent my own money on, used in my actual life, and decided was worth telling people about.
Think of me as that buddy from high school who somehow always knows the best stuff. You trust him not because he has credentials, but because he's never steered you wrong. A new friend but an old one too — that's the energy here.
The entries aren't long. They might even be too short. They make up for it by being sharp, honest, and occasionally a little surprising. Sometimes I'll start talking about a thermos and end up somewhere interesting about global supply chains. It goes where it goes. No political bias, no authority complex — just one person's opinion, delivered with a little spirit.
What I look for
Three things. Quality — does it actually work and is it well made? Affordability — not cheap, but worth it for what you get over a lifetime. Durability — will it still be good a year from now? Five years? Value here isn't about frugality. A $90 blanket that lasts a decade beats a $25 one you replace every year. That's how I think about every product on this site.
Why "CoolFind"?
Because the best products aren't always the most famous ones. Sometimes the best thing you'll ever own is something your buddy mentioned at a cookout that you forgot about for six months and then ordered at 1am on a Tuesday. That's a cool find. This site is full of them.
The fine print
Some of these links earn me a small commission. Some don't have a link at all — they're things you can only grab in a store. The recommendation always comes first. If something isn't worth your money, it doesn't make the site. Period.
